Riken Perfumery was established in 1952, and since then has expanded its business fields, ranging from gas odorants to food flavors, deodorizers, and other products.

The company’s motto is “Innovation through Science”.
Gas odorants that can detect gas leakages have contributed to the safety of people’s lives. Food flavors also contributes to the promotion of health by adding butter flavors on vegetable oils with low cholesterol content, for example. Furthermore, deodorizers contribute to improving the comfort of living spaces.

There are a wide range of uses for fragrances and flavors, including cosmetics, confectioneries, beverages, detergents, etc. There are many areas that have not been scientifically explained, and the sense of smell, for example, is an area that has remains largely unexplored. It is a very deep subject, and there is still great deal of room for development in the flavor industry. We are also committed to studying these unknown areas and developing new food flavors.

The Westernization of food is expected to continue in China and other Asian countries in the future. In order to meet the needs for food flavors in the Asian region, we established Riken Asia Flavors (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., in the Fengxian District of Shanghai, China, and began full-scale production at our Shanghai Plant in 2018.

Although our company is relatively small, we strive to continue developing and improving our performance every year. As a small, yet elite company, we aim to be a company where each and every employee can achieve personal growth.
